Hi! We’re Tom and Tara, and we’re based in San Diego, California. We’re not independently wealthy. We don’t live in a van, or on a boat, and we definitely don’t travel full time (although any of the preceding would be nice!). We face the constant battle of balancing our careers and social lives with an apparently unquenchable thirst for adventure in all forms. Every time we were planning a new trip, we longed for a resource like this website – a single source for the best multi-sport adventures and hidden gems in our intended destination – but were forced to scour countless websites and blogs, track down obscure travel books, and talk to local contacts in order to establish an itinerary. After years of doing this, we finally decided to create this website as a resource for anyone else looking to live and travel the same way – a sort of “insider’s guide” to everything we’ve learned. We’ll struggle through the research and planning, distill it down to the good stuff, and add to the site – this means you can skip the annoying parts and go straight to having fun!
