Unlike Gjáin and Háifoss, which fly somewhat under the radar and are less visited, Hjalparfoss is back on the main tourist traffic route and therefore sees a much larger volume of visitors. If it’s possible, I’d recommend seeing this one before Haifoss because you’re bound to be disappointed otherwise. We saw Háifoss first and were very “meh” about Hjálparfoss afterwards, but it is actually very pretty and worth the 10 minute stop.
