This 450-acre preserve was created when Jacob Krumm bequeathed his farm to the conversation board to create a park. Since it had long been a farm, a major effort was undertaken to restore the land to its original state, including native prairie lands, woodlands, ponds, a large lake, and wetland areas. Seven miles of hiking trails run throughout the preserve, and boating and fishing are allowed on the lake. This is a beautiful area for viewing native flora and fauna, particularly for wildflowers.
