Ever wonder where you can attend one of those “movie New Year’s Eve” parties? The kind where everyone is dressed up and drinking champagne and then everyone blows their noisemakers while confetti falls from the ceiling at midnight and the band plays Auld Lang Syne? Well, this is one of those places. The Fairmont Banff Springs puts on a wonderful party, with loads of stationary and passed hors d’oeuvres, a fabulous seated dinner where you can make new friends (because most of the people there are Canadian, so you know they’re going to be nice!), and a great live band that plays until midnight so you can keep yourself awake by tearing up the dance floor. After the confetti drops, run outside to the huge windows and watch the fireworks display outside. It’s our favorite way to ring in the New Year. You don’t have to stay at the hotel to attend the party, but it does make it really easy.
