Gullfoss is a large, multi-tired waterfall, notable for its width and water volume. The falls plunge over their final drop and the river, wide at the top of the falls, continues on through a narrow gorge below the falls. There is a very short hike to get to the edge of falls, and it’s difficult to photograph because of the awkward angles and overall size, but it’s impressive and worth the stop since it’s only a few minutes up the road from Geysir.
